Most say they probably won't get updated COVID vaccine: Survey

In the latest poll, most Americans say they probably won't get a coronavirus vaccine.

Pew Research Center investigation It was found that 60% of respondents said they “probably have no plans” to get the latest vaccine. Just under 25% said they would “probably” get a booster shot, and 15% said they had already received the latest vaccination.

Those surveyed who were hesitant about the latest vaccines were asked what “serious” concerns might cause them to refrain from getting the latest vaccines. About 60% cited concerns about side effects, 61% said they didn't think the shot was necessary, and 5% said cost was a factor in their decision to avoid the shot.

The data comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that people 65 and older and those with weakened immune systems consider getting a second dose of the latest vaccines.

President-elect Trump recently selected Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has a history of anti-vaccine activism, to lead the Department of Health and Human Services in the next administration. Kennedy has been strongly opposed to coronavirus vaccines and was banned from Instagram in early 2021 for intentionally spreading false information about vaccines.
