LeBron James is going on a social media hiatus

LeBron James is done with social media for now.

The Lakers star announced that he will be taking a hiatus from X, Instagram, etc.

james He replied with an incomprehensible “Amen!!” With salute emoji Rich Kleiman, Kevin Durant's agent, wrote a lengthy post about X in which he slammed the “negativity” of the sports media as a whole.

“With so much hate and negativity in the world today, I wonder why some national sports media still think the best way to cover sports is to cast them in a negative light. I am perplexed by this,” Klayman wrote. “We all agree that sports are the last universal uniting part of society, so why can't the press do the same?

“If you say that, it's just clickbait. When a platform becomes so big it can make a difference and we can all escape from real negative situations. For me personally, it's all about I think it's a waste of breath. The Olympics and the JJ and Bron show were the future of what could and should be.”

James, no stranger to social media cleansing, planned to follow up in a few minutes to say goodbye to his followers.

“Well then, thank you everyone!” I will be away from social media for a while. Everyone please be careful.” James wrote to X.

This internet pause comes early, as NBA legends famously take a break from social media during the playoffs.

James' social media pledge was announced as the Lakers are off to a 10-4 start to the 2024-25 NBA season.

On Tuesday night, the Purple and Gold defeated the Jazz behind No. 17 overall pick Dalton Knecht, who scored 37 points, and James was elated.

“They couldn't find their DK. The other 16 teams were confused,” James told reporters after the game. “Did anyone see him? They just messed up.”
