According to Brolin, things got heated between Josh Brolin and Denzel Washington when they worked together.
When I appeared on 'More about Graham BensingerOn this week's podcast, the Avengers: Endgame star shared the story of working with Washington on the 2007 film American Gangster.
Brolin began the anecdote by saying, “By the way, Denzel and I get along really well now.”
However, he admitted that he “almost got into a fight” with the Oscar winner.

While filming a scene for Ridley Scott's film, Washington and Brolin's acting styles didn't seem to match.
Brolin said Washington made last-minute adjustments to his lines, staying true to his role as New York City gangster Frank Lucas and not making eye contact with his co-stars.
“I was trying to remember the structure, and then we rehearsed. There weren't that many lines, most of them were my lines. And I was supposed to be very confident,” he recalled. “It's Denzel Washington, dude. It's not easy. You're an actor trying to see if they're real.

“Then I forgot my line. I put my hand on his shoulder and said, 'What's your line?'” And he slapped my hand away and said, “You're never going to put your hand on me.” Please don't call.” And I thought, “Oh my god, I'm breaking up with Denzel Washington, this is crazy.” We're not actors anymore…at least in my mind.
“In his mind, he was just doing his job. That's the kind of guy he was. He was Frank Lucas. But I didn't know.”
After the moment passed, Brolin remembered asking, “'Are you OK?'” He said, “Right?” I said, “Okay, can I take the line?” He said, “Good luck.” Looks like I've said what I needed to say. ”
“I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm breaking up with Denzel Washington. This is crazy.'
