Earlier this week, I wrote a column exposing the metastasis of a cancer within the American political establishment, a malignancy created and nurtured by the progressive project of the last century. I focused on how this cancer infected our nation's “eyes and ears” – the media. From Big Tech suppressing dissent to mass media corrupting public debate, this disease has eroded our ability to pursue the common good through civil dissent and the free flow of information.
But the roots of this cancer run deeper, reaching into the very organ meant to protect and nourish our republic: our immune system.
The 2024 election is more than just a mandate. That's a diagnosis.
The Department of Health and Human Services, particularly the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Food and Drug Administration, once served as the body's natural defenses. Today, government institutions resemble fragile immune systems, infested with power-hungry elites and corrupted by self-interest.
This failure has been exposed during the coronavirus pandemic, shredding the last vestiges of trust Americans had in their government. At the center of this disaster stood Dr. Anthony Fauci, the epitome of progressive corruption. A man who turned his government office into an untouchable kingdom.
fauci empire
Mr. Fauci's history should serve as a lesson. As director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, he wielded unparalleled influence to shape pandemic policies that have devastated lives and businesses. Behind the scenes, his agency was funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the likely source of the coronavirus.
Even in the face of this inconvenient truth, Fauci avoided accountability. In 2021, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) exposed his agency's involvement in funding this dangerous research. Months later, NIH officials acknowledged it. But Fauci remains unscathed, unaccountable, and admired by the elite.
When he retires in 2022, Fauci will be the highest paid federal employee with an annual salary of more than $400,000. His golden parachute includes a security detail funded by taxpayers at a cost of $15 million, revealed by watchdog group open bookHidden royalties from pharmaceutical companies. These revelations paint a disgusting picture of people and a system that enriches itself at the expense of the American people.
the apotheosis of bureaucracy
When Fauci infamously claimed, “If you're attacking me, you're attacking science,” he wasn't just defending his actions. He personified a progressive vision of government, one in which a pantheon of unelected “experts” held unchallenged control over the masses. Agencies like the NIH, CDC, and FDA, once supposed to serve the public, now tower over us like Greek temples, demanding faith while suppressing dissent.
This progressive model, central control disguised as expertise, is a cancer that is eating away at our republic. It prioritizes bureaucratic power over individual freedom and responsibility. Trump's election represents a repudiation of this model. But rebellion is meaningless without action.
President Trump's Window of Opportunity
The 2024 election is more than just a mandate. That's a diagnosis. The American people are demanding bold action to root out corruption. The federal health bureaucracy must be one of President Trump's top priorities. His administration must:
- Auditing government agencies: Investigating abuses of power and conflicts of interest at the NIH, CDC, and FDA.
- Hold Accountability: Hold people like Mr. Fauci accountable for misleading Congress and the American people.
- Decentralization of power: Transferring authority from federal agencies to state and local governments.
- Ending corporate nepotism: Shedding light on the relationship between big pharmaceutical companies and federal agencies.
This is the next step in American surgery, a treatment that targets not just the tumor but the systems that enable it to grow.
We can no longer allow unelected officials to wield unlimited power. Agencies like the NIH, CDC, and FDA must return to their rightful roles of serving people, not controlling them. President Trump's inauguration provides a unique opportunity to take back government of people, by people, and for people.
Although the cancer is deep, it does not mean it cannot be treated. It will require bold leadership from the Trump administration and the courage to challenge the progressive elites who have corrupted our system.
