A suspected child sex offender and MS-13 gang member was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Massachusetts.
ICE said it was tracked by its Removal Operations Division in Boston. Belladis Tapia Gonzalez A Dominican Republic man was charged Monday with second-degree child sexual abuse/sexual assault in Lynn, Rhode Island.
“ERO Boston is tasked with protecting communities from potentially dangerous non-citizens, especially those accused of serious crimes such as child sexual assault,” Patricia Hyde, ERO Boston acting field director, said in a statement. “There is,” he said. “Our officers arrested Tapia, who is accused of a horrific crime, after learning that a court in Warwick, Rhode Island, released him on bond.”
Gonzalez remains in ICE custody and has since been served with a notice to appear before a Justice Department immigration judge.

Beladis Tapia Gonzalez was arrested on Monday, November 18, in Lynn, Massachusetts, according to ICE.
ERO Boston also arrested Jose Luis Castro Jobel, On Nov. 13, a man described as a 24-year-old Salvadoran national and confirmed member of the MS-13 gang was spotted along a road in Northampton.
“Mr. Castro entered the United States at an unknown date and location without being inspected by a U.S. immigration official, authorized to enter, or granted parole,” ICE said. “An immigration judge at the Department of Justice ordered his deportation on March 22, 2023, but he remained in the country.

“Northampton Police arrested Castro on January 26 on charges of assault and battery on a family member or household member,” it added. “ERO Boston filed an immigration detention motion against him in Northampton District Court, which tracked him to Hampden County Correctional Center, where he was taken into custody after arraignment. However, Northampton District Court notified ERO Boston. He was released on February 12th.
The arrests come after ICE announced Wednesday that two undocumented immigrants were charged with forcibly raping a child in Massachusetts, and three undocumented immigrants convicted of raping a child in Brazil who were hiding in the United States. This was carried out after the announcement of the second person's detention. Captured and released at the US border in 2022.
