Someone might be trying to make “Daniel Jones, Dallas Cowboy” exist.
Jones, now the former Giants franchise quarterback, sought and was granted his release early Friday.
NFL fans, primarily for comedic reasons, are calling for Jones to sign with the rival Cowboys ahead of the rivalry's upcoming matchup on Thanksgiving.
And on Friday, Jones was actually listed as a member of the Cowboys on the online roster, although he has not yet signed with his new team.
The rink originally had Jones as a member of its roster, but it no longer includes Jones on its team.

As reported by the Fort Worth Star-TelegramJones' player card was likely made for the Cowboys to use in the article, “Nothing to See Here.”
The Cowboys then worked quickly to shut down any potential rumors with Dak Prescott out with a season-ending injury and Cooper Rush continuing to be sidelined.
Despite relying on rushing and career backup in the unproven Trey Lance, the Cowboys' brain trust has signed the former Giant to the second of a four-year, $160 million extension.・He claimed that he did not enter the Jones market.
“No, I think we're in good shape at the quarterback position.” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones believes so.. “We think Cooper (Rush) gives us the best chance to win at this point. And certainly, we still want to see some. We'll see how the season goes here. Let's see. We still want to see (Trey) Lance and we like what he brings to the table. And of course, long-term, we committed to Dak (Prescott) long-term. Everyone knows that.”
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy also worked hard to keep the Jones-Dallas rumors from lingering.
“I've never been in the business of looking at players based on the team they're released to, especially in terms of the timing of their next game.” McCarthy said in a conference call Friday. “He was a prospect that I was really looking forward to coming out. But we're just putting our heads down right now and really focusing on working with the players that we have here.” .”
Rush and Lance are scheduled to become free agents after the season.
Rush has been with the Cowboys since the 2017 season and started five games in 2022, playing well enough to keep the team at 4-1 during that time.
Last week, Rush completed 32 of 55 passes for 354 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Cowboys' 34-10 loss to the Texans on Monday Night Football.
It was Rush's second start of the season.
Lance was selected by the 49ers third overall in 2021 and acquired before the 2023 season in exchange for a fourth-round pick.
He never became a full-time starter in San Francisco, losing out to current starter Brock Purdy for Mr. Irrelevant, the last overall pick in 2022, before being traded.
The North Dakota State University graduate has made one appearance in two years for the Cowboys.
And, of course, Prescott's untimely hamstring injury (requiring surgery) was the first in a four-year, $240 million extension, signed before Week 1 and the richest in NFL history. It became a contract.
The Cowboys are 3-7 and will play the 7-4 Commanders this week in Washington, D.C.
