The current figure is the highest level since -12 in August 2021, when the economy improved after the initial shock of the COVID-19 pandemic. The worst recently was in June 2022, when the economy fell to -58 in reaction to rising inflation, the worst since the 2008 recession, the pollster said.

Currently, 26% of Americans rate the economy as good or good. According to the poll, approximately 32% said it was fair, and 40% (the biggest change since the last poll) said it was poor.

Research shows that increased confidence in the economy is coming from Republicans. Confidence among independents also rose last month, but Democrats' confidence in the economy declined.

As Democrats question what went wrong in their message to voters this election and President-elect Trump prepares to return to the White House with Republicans leading both houses of Congress, many believe the key is He points out that it is the economy.

Voters consistently ranked the economy as their top priority and voted in support of President Trump's economic promises at the ballot box.

Gallup noted that when President Biden won in 2020, Democrats supported the economy and Republican confidence declined. According to Gallup, once President Trump takes office and the next Congress begins, Republicans are expected to outperform Democrats in their economic ratings.

The survey was conducted among 1,001 adults between November 6 and 20, and had a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
