President-elect Trump has announced a number of personnel changes as he prepares his team for his transition to the White House next year.
The president-elect announced his selection of Jamieson Grier as the next U.S. trade representative. Greer previously served as chief of staff at the US Trade Representative's office during Robert Lighthizer's first term, when the Trump administration imposed tariffs on China and other countries.
Mr. Greer must be confirmed by the Senate.

President Trump also nominated Vince Haley, who served as a speechwriter during the campaign, to head the Domestic Policy Council, and Kevin A. Hassett to head the White House National Economic Council.
“I am proud to announce that Vince Haley, who served as Director of Policy and Speechwriting for my winning campaign, will lead my domestic policy agenda as Director of the Domestic Policy Council,” President Trump said in a statement. Ta.
“Vince led the speechwriting department during my first administration and was instrumental in getting our message to the people,” he added. “Prior to joining my campaign in 2016, he spent 12 years in various roles under Newt Gingrich, whom I greatly admire.”
Ms. Haley served as policy director and campaign manager for Mr. Gingrich's 2012 presidential campaign.

In her new role, Haley will lead Trump's domestic policy, according to the president-elect.
Mr. Hassett played a key role in the development and passage of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
“It will play a critical role in helping American families recover from the inflation caused by the Biden administration,” Trump said. “Together, we will renew and improve our tax record and ensure fair trade with countries that have taken advantage of America in the past.”

Businessman John Phelan will also be the next Secretary of the Navy.
