Appearing on MSNBC's “The Beat” on Tuesday, Geraldo Rivera claimed that mass deportations by President-elect Donald Trump would be “terrifying” and would damage the nation's reputation.
Host Ari Melber said, “You're right about mass deportations. The transition headlines that he wants to declare a national emergency, bring in the military, and mass deport illegal aliens. is now being reported to us. What do you say to Donald Trump? What do you say to him tonight about what they've known for years?
Mr. Rivera said, “Mr. Ali, I don't know if they will take my advice, but let me be clear about it. And even if it's here. , to convince people that they shouldn't prolong their stay by filing a lawsuit, that they have a right to due process in two years to be evicted now. The idea is to make it uncomfortable and make people want to get out of the house.”
He continued: “Everything I say now I say in bold: This is a horrible thing they planned. Think of the Japanese internment during World War II. The more people flock to it, the more terrifying it will be and the more it will weigh on all Americans. You know, there's no distortion or explanation about it. When you look through the barbed wire fence, you see people who look like you, and many of whom have been in this country for a long time. Rivera added: “This is going to be horrible, horrible.
