Incoming Trump border czar Tom Homan responded to news of death threats against candidate Trump on Wednesday, saying he now takes seriously the death threats he received previously.
“I have never taken this seriously,” Homan told Fox News anchor Gillian Turner on Wednesday, referring to previous death threats made against him and his family. .
“I see what's happened in the last 24 hours. I'm going to take it a little harder. But look, I've been dealing with this. When I was ICE Director in the first administration. , I received numerous death threats. Even after I retired, the death threats continued and I had U.S. Marshals protection for a long time to protect me and my family.”
Homan said it's the “negative press” surrounding Trump that is “not helping” the situation.

Homan's comments come Tuesday night after nearly a dozen of President-elect Trump's Cabinet nominees and other appointees to the incoming administration were accused of “violent and un-American threats to their lives and the people living with them.” The announcement comes shortly after Fox News Digital first reported that he had been targeted. He urged a “swift” response from law enforcement.

“The attacks have ranged from bomb threats to 'swatting' attacks,” said Caroline Leavitt, Trump Vance's transition press secretary and incoming White House press secretary.
“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump's Cabinet nominees and government appointees were the targets of violent and un-American threats against the lives of those living with them,” she said Wednesday on Fox News. told Digital. “In response, law enforcement acted quickly to ensure the safety of those targeted. President Trump and the entire transition team are grateful for their swift action.”
Sources told Fox News Digital that CIA director candidate John Ratcliffe, defense secretary candidate Pete Hegseth and U.N. ambassador candidate Elise Stefanik were also targeted. Brooke Rollins, President Trump's pick for Secretary of Agriculture, and Lee Zeldin, President Trump's pick to head the EPA, were also targeted.
Threats were also made against the families of Republican Rep. Lori Chavez Delemer, President Trump's nominee for labor secretary, and Matt Gaetz, Trump's former attorney general nominee.

“I'm not going to be intimidated by these people,” Homan told Fox News. “I'm not going to let them silence me.”
“Based on what I learned today, I’m going to start taking it a little more seriously.”
Homan added that he believes “Once we find out who is behind all of this, there needs to be a strong response.”
“Threatening someone's life is illegal, and we need to enforce that.”
Tuesday night's threat came just months after President Trump survived two assassination attempts.
