Since at least the 1970s, and perhaps more than a century, incidents of cows being found in pastures, their organs removed with surgical precision and slaughtered without leaving a trace of blood or evidence, have been a series of silent stories across the country. It has baffled ranchers and law enforcement in rural areas.
Animals are found in unnatural positions and drained of blood by beleaguered ranchers in Minnesota, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Oregon.
“There are more questions than answers in this case,” Jeremiah Holmes of the Wheeler County Sheriff's Office in Oregon, who has overseen five similar cases in the past six years, told Fox News Digital. spoke.
Holmes said killing a farmer's livestock is a serious crime. However, no substantial clues have been obtained regarding these incidents so far. The law officer said it was the first time he had seen an animal die under such conditions, and there were no footprints or blood left in the newly fallen snow.
Pentagon solves one of the hottest UFO mysteries
Colby Marshall is pictured in front of one of five bulls that were mutilated on the ranch he managed in 2017. Cleaners usually dismember the remains of animals, but they did not touch these bulls and left the carcasses to “melt,” he said. into the ground. (Colby Marshall)
He has spoken to numerous news outlets, researchers and documentarians about this phenomenon, all in a desperate bid to finally solve this strange mystery.
“Why would they harvest genitals unless it's a ritual or a test? I don't know,” Holmes said.
“Individuals will reach out and present their theories. Some think it's aliens, some think it's the government testing them, some think it's ranchers trying to get revenge. There are people. There are a lot of theories,” Holmes said. “The only animals I've ever disrespected are predators. I grew up in the country and worked in the livestock industry, so I've learned a lot about what bears do, what cougars do, what wild dogs do, and even more. I've seen it with my own eyes, and I can't attribute it to any kind of predator because I've seen it all firsthand.”
Reports of the phenomenon, which usually involves cows but sometimes other livestock, began making headlines in the 1970s, with the Colorado Associated Press ranking the mutilation the No. 1 story in the state. However, records of cattle mutilations matching the same pattern date back to 1869, according to “Stalking the Herd: Unraveling the Cattle Mutilation Mystery.” Chris O'Brien.

The Netflix documentary series Investigating Alien, released this month, follows UFO journalist George Knapp as he investigates an extraterrestrial influence on Earth, which suggests the culprits are aliens.
“Initially, I grew up very conservative, and aliens were something that was ridiculed by my family and friends,” Holmes told Fox News Digital. “I automatically thought they didn’t exist.”
“But what are aliens? If people believe in Bigfoot and Sasquatch, some people believe in life on other planets,” Holmes said. “Some people might say, 'If Bigfoot is a real belief, then there may be other unidentified creatures on this planet that we haven't identified yet that are doing this.' .”
Colby Marshall, a former ranch manager in Barnes, Oregon, discovered five mutilated bulls over two days in September 2017.
Pentagon answers questions about whether UFOs and aliens have ever visited Earth

In July 2020, a cow was found dead in Wheeler County, Oregon, with its tongue and genitals removed and in a creepy position. Following the incident, ranchers in the area were urged to “pay close attention to monitoring their cattle.” (Wheeler County Sheriff's Office)
“One of the cowboys called me on the walkie-talkie we had and said, 'I found a dead bull.' This was a unique situation. A 2,000-pound, dead bull. Because it was rare for a healthy young bull to be found “dead,'' Marshall recalled.
The Hereford bull was lying on its side, its front legs sticking out at odd angles. Its tongue and entire genitals had been carefully removed, but there was “not a drop” of blood.
“They didn’t puncture the abdominal cavity. I've harvested many animals myself over the years and slaughtered many cows for meat processing, but I'd never seen anything like it,” Marshall said. said.

A second bull was also found with the same organs missing, and three more bulls were found the next day.
“I've seen a lot of animals die from injury, disease and a variety of other circumstances,” Marshall said. “It was the most surreal and bizarre situation for livestock I have ever experienced.”
Holmes told FOX News Digital that because the ranch is sprawling and cattle mutilations are typically done in remote areas, the animals' bodies are decomposed by the time they are discovered, requiring a necropsy or other form of investigation. He said the activity was no longer viable. But in Marshall's case, the body was relatively fresh.
“We tried to gather as much forensic evidence as possible and did an autopsy on the bull,” Marshall said. “There was no sign of liver damage, heart damage, lung damage. There were no internal organ defects. [stomach] It was full of animals. they were eating. they were drinking alcohol. It wasn't stressful at all for them. ”
Marshall said the bull, which wasn't taken to the lab, simply “melted to the ground” and cleaners wouldn't touch it.
“Under normal circumstances, scavengers, coyotes, bears, etc., they would tear the animal apart and drag it around. The bones would be scattered, the skin would be gone, the head would be gone,” he said.
A $25,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest of the person who mutilated the bull, but no information was forthcoming, Marshall said.
Like Holmes, Marshall is willing to talk to anyone about the issue in hopes of solving “the longest running murder mystery in the history of the world.” This includes beleaguered ranchers across the country.
Marshall believes that sophisticated networks of humans, perhaps cultists or groups that use animal parts for ritual purposes, are to blame, rather than extraterrestrials.
”I believe there is a big galaxy out there. . . . And it's very likely that we're not the only intelligent life forms in the galaxy. Yes, I believe there are probably aliens. And, you know, they've probably visited Earth,” Marshall told FOX News Digital. No, I don't think so – I think they can do better with their technology. ”

“But you know, the fact that they're coming across the galaxy to Eastern Oregon to buy beef means we have some pretty good beef, probably the best beef in the galaxy,” Marshall joked. I said with a smile.
“It's okay to talk about it and tell stories,” Marshall said. “What I want people to know is that there are other people who have gone through it. And what we need to do is we need to talk about it. It might bring some light, maybe some answers.”
According to the website, the FBI investigated the phenomenon of animal mutilation from 1974 to 1978, but found no answers.
“I have been advocating for the federal government to investigate further using the tools they have,” Holmes said. “Since the 1980s, we have a lot more tools to investigate…The reason I'm a little more vocal about this is because I want to solve it…and we… We know we can’t solve it” on our own. ”
