At least 25 anti-Israel demonstrators were arrested Thursday for disrupting the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for the second year in a row.
Protesters held Palestinian flags and banners that read “Don't celebrate genocide” and sat on the street in front of a parade in New York City, arms crossed and chanting “Free Palestine.” According to Go to ABC News. The exact charges and identities of the protesters have not yet been made public.
The parade was delayed for several minutes while police removed protesters from the road, ABC said. Spectators appeared to boo at the demonstrations and cheer when police lifted the blockade.

In 2023, a parade was similarly interrupted after about 30 protesters jumped over barricades and staked themselves in the street.
Since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, anti-Israel demonstrations have disrupted numerous events across the country. Hundreds of people were arrested in incidents that occurred at Democratic Party campaign events and on numerous university campuses. Several anti-Israel groups were expected to disrupt holiday celebrations in a “global escalation” aimed at disrupting normal business, hampering Black Friday shopping and discouraging holiday travel. .
