In a statement explaining his decision, Biden said: “While I believe in our justice system, as I have wrestled with it, I have also seen how raw politics has infected this process and led to miscarriages of justice.'' In fact, Glenn mostly agrees.
Before the scandal became public, the Justice Department, Internal Revenue Service, and FBI were trying to give Hunter a “sweetheart deal” that would effectively cover up the crime. In that sense, yes. Hunter's case was certainly a miscarriage of justice from the beginning, and the pardon made it even worse.
But just because Biden pardoned Hunter doesn't mean it's over, and there's still a way for at least some justice to be served.
“If Trump is what we think he is…he could completely blow the lid off this,” Glenn says.
“Even if he couldn't indict Hunter or Joe, that's fine. But he declassified every document in the Biden investigation, from cocaine to China to the Middle East, and not only destroyed Biden's legacy. He can destroy the press too. He can destroy everyone involved in this, the entire apparatus around it, ”he suggests.
“Biden only gave immunity to Hunter. He gave immunity only to Hunter and by extension himself, but not to the military-intelligence industrial complex and the teams around it. All these people are exposed. All of these people could go to prison, and with Kash Patel's appointment, I predict that will happen,'' Glenn hypothesizes.
