A strong plurality of 49% agree President-elect Trump has argued that the approximately 1,500 Americans charged with crimes during the mostly peaceful protests at the U.S. Capitol on and around January 6, 2021 should be pardoned.

Obviously that's the most reasonable approach. No one who commits acts of violence or vandalism is eligible for amnesty. We are well aware that many of the violent Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters escaped with impunity, but that does not excuse those who actually engaged in criminal activity at the Capitol.
But let's be honest, most people who are convicted have done nothing wrong. The surveillance video that Democrats and the fake and disgraceful January 6th Committee did not want released proves it. Most of those now in legal jeopardy were simply present on January 6th. Some people peacefully toured the Capitol building as soon as it opened.
Most of all, no one was caught with a gun, which ruined the entire “rebellion” story.

Despite five years of abuse from the administration's media, when Rasmussen asked whether January 6 represented a threat to American democracy, only 54% said “yes.” , 40% answered “no.”
The internal circumstances are interesting. Fifty-four percent of Hispanics support the Jan. 6 amnesty, while only 39% oppose it. Only 52% of black voters disapprove of amnesty, while 47% approve. This is further evidence that, as we have seen, black Americans no longer align with the beliefs of the Democratic Party. Among Democrats, 70% oppose the January 6 pardon, while only 26% approve.
The national survey was conducted on November 25th and 26th among 879 likely voters, and was conducted before Joe Biden announced his obscene blanket pardon for criminal son Hunter. . One wonders what effect such a brazen abuse of power on Joe's part would have on people's thoughts about the prisoners on January 6th.
Again, some of the actual crimes occurred on January 6th, but the fact that those crimes occurred at the U.S. Capitol makes them even worse. Those people deserve to be punished as long as the punishment fits the crime. Others should enjoy a full pardon the moment President Trump returns to the Oval Office.
