F1 on Wednesday announced a one-year extension for the Dutch Grand Prix, which will now be held until the 2026 season.
However, it was also announced that 2026 will be the last year the Dutch Grand Prix will be held on the calendar.
In the announcement, “[a]After much consideration and discussion, the promoters have made the decision that it will not remain on the calendar beyond 2026. ”
According to F1, the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix will also host one of the season's F1 sprint races, making it the first time in the sport's history that Zandvoort will host a F1 sprint race.
“I am extremely grateful to the Dutch Grand Prix team for the work they have done over the last few years. We support the development of young talent and are also pioneers of sustainable solutions that have inspired events around the world where we drive. We aim to be net zero by 2030,” said F1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali.
“All parties involved are actively working together to find a solution to extend the race, with a number of options being considered, including alternative hosting and annual events, and respecting the promoter's decision to finish the great race in 2026. Domenicali added. “I would like to thank the entire Dutch Grand Prix team and the city of Zandvoort for being such great partners in F1.”
The 2025 Dutch Grand Prix is scheduled for August 29-31, 2025. The dates for the final Dutch Grand Prix in 2026 have not yet been announced.
