President-elect Donald Trump announced that he has selected former Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) to head the Small Business Administration (SBA).
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said was praised Loeffler was described as a “tremendous fighter” when she served as a U.S. senator during President Trump's first term. Trump added that Loeffler helped pass “the first legislation in history to protect women in sports.”
“I am very pleased to nominate Georgia businesswoman and former senator Kelly Loeffler to head the Small Business Administration (SBA),” President Trump said. “Small businesses are the backbone of our great economy, and Kelly will use her business and Washington experience to reduce red tape and unlock opportunities for small businesses to grow, innovate and thrive.”
“She will focus on cracking down on waste, fraud, and regulatory overreach and holding the SBA accountable to taxpayers,” Trump added. “Kelly made significant contributions to the U.S. Senate during the Trump administration, including helping to pass the first-ever legislation protecting women in sports. Prior to her election to the U.S. Senate, Kelly I spent 25 years in financial services and technology.”
