Trump changes White House counsel pick, tapping David Warrington

President-elect Trump on Wednesday announced changes to the White House counseling position for the incoming administration, naming top campaign lawyer David Warrington to the position.

“This bill will play an important role in freeing our economy from burdensome regulation, overspending, and government waste,” President Trump said in a statement. “He will work with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to provide advice and guidance on ending the bloated federal bureaucracy.”

It was not immediately clear why Trump made the change. The New York Times reported McGinley is backed by Boris Epshteyn, a powerful adviser to President Trump, who has come under scrutiny amid accusations that he sought to profit from his closeness with Trump. There is.

In the previous Trump administration, Don McGahn and Pat Cipollone served as White House advisers. Cipollone represented Trump in his first impeachment trial and reportedlypersuade a former president to make concessionsAfter losing the 2020 presidential election, Trump insisted there was no evidence of widespread fraud as he had claimed.
