9 puppies abandoned in bucket alongside road in New Jersey

A 2-week-old puppy was found stuffed in a bucket and dumped on the side of a road in Union County, New Jersey, on Thursday, police said.

Officials said the nine puppies were found inside a 5-gallon bucket abandoned near Raritan Road and Francis Drive. facebook post From the Clark County Police Department.

Police said the newborn puppy was taken to the police station and then taken to the Humane Society.

“The Clark Police Department found them around 4 p.m.” [p.m.] So no one knows how long they were out during the day,” said Daniel Mania of the Associated Humane Societies. told ABC7.

“One good Samaritan said he saw a bucket on the street and it was moving and the puppies were probably squirming around a little bit so he called the police.”

One puppy died, but the remaining puppies are being cared for by the shelter's veterinary team, the report said.

The whereabouts of the puppy's mother are unknown.

“I know, my heart is breaking for Mom, we just don't know, but did Mom die?” What happened to her? Was she not breastfeeding enough? “It's outrageous to leave a puppy in a bucket on the street, especially in the bitter cold that New Jersey is facing,” Mania told the magazine.
