Trans Issues Were ‘Aired Out in the Public Forum of an Election’

Lt. Gov. Jon Husted (R) explained during an appearance on the show that he is confident the common-sense bathroom law signed by Gov. Mike DeWine (R) will withstand legal scrutiny. Breitbart News Saturday Transgender issues were mainly “reported in public during the election,” he said.

In November, DeWine signed a bill banning transgender students in kindergarten through 12th grade from single-sex facilities that correspond to their gender identity. In other words, students must use single-sex facilities according to their biological sex, which Husted said is common sense.

Asked about possible legal issues that may arise, Husted said Ohio will not be the only state to defend it.

“We are not alone. There are at least 10 other states with similar laws. And as you know, this week there was a case in the U.S. Supreme Court regarding child gender transition surgery and treatment. , I hope this goes in the same direction as that issue,” he said, explaining that states should be able to regulate these things and that it “protects individual rights” rather than “discrimination.” He emphasized that.

Additionally, he said transgender people still have a choice, as they can use a domestic bathroom if they don't want to go to their biological sex's bathroom.

“You can have all of those things, but at least you have to have a safe place, a group toilet for men, a toilet for women. And we are confident that this will withstand any legal challenge.” But believe it or not, these are modern issues that we must address to protect people's rights,” Husted said. “In this case, having a safe place to go to the bathroom or use a locker room is a right to privacy for girls and women.”

Mr. Husted also discussed how this issue played an important role in the presidential election.

“The issues that were talked about were inflation and border security, but we all remember the ads that said Donald Trump is for you and Kamala Harris is for them, right? Follow it. This is the most important issue of the election, and the voters were on your side, not them,” Husted said. “That's what it was”:

Additionally, Husted emphasized that this position is not “anti-transgender.”

“If you are an adult in America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, and you want to be transgender or identify however you want to identify, you are allowed to do so. That doesn't take away the right to do that. But what we're saying is, boys play boys sports. Girls play girls sports. “We have women's restrooms, we have women's changing rooms, and it's going to be a safe place,” he added. “We want a safe place for women and girls, and we want that. I believe it was broadcast in public during the election. ”

listen:

“We'll continue to see laws like this passed and the courts will uphold them,” he added.
