Here is where the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting suspect worked

The man in law enforcement custody as a suspect in the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson worked as a software engineer at TrueCar.

Luigi Mangione, 26, was found inside a McDonald's store on Monday and taken into custody in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Employees reportedly recognized Thompson during an investigation that began last week after he was killed on a New York City street on Dec. 4.

According to Mangione's LinkedIn, he works as a data engineer at TrueCar, which he started in November 2020 in Santa Monica, California. TrueCar provides pricing and online retail services to car buyers and car dealers, and enables dealers to communicate with potential customers in the new or used car market.

A TrueCar spokesperson confirmed to FOX Business that Mangione will no longer be an employee after 2023.

Mangione's page shows that he leverages a variety of technologies to build a data platform to handle lease and loan payments, pricing information, and related visualizations. He has been promoted from Data Engineer I at the beginning of his appointment to Data Engineer III as of October 2022.

“The suspect was at McDonald's and an employee recognized him, who alerted local police,” New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a press conference Monday.

“Responding officers questioned the suspect, who was acting suspiciously and was in possession of multiple fraudulent identification documents and a U.S. passport. Upon further investigation, officers located the suspect on his person. A firearm and suppression device were recovered, both matching the weapon used in the incident.'' “

“They also recovered clothing, including a mask that matched what our wanted suspect was wearing. They also recovered the ID and ID the suspect used to check into a New York City hostel prior to the shooting. A matching New Jersey fraudulent ID was also recovered,” Tisch said. “Additionally, officers discovered handwritten documents that speak to both his motives and his thinking.”

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenney told reporters at the same press conference: “I don't believe that document mentions any specific threats against others, but I don't think it mentions any kind of malicious intent against American companies.'' It seems like there are,” he said.
