Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the shooting death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, reviewed the manifesto of Ted Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber, on the book review and recommendation site Goodreads, where he called Kaczynski a “genius.'' “Violence is necessary for survival,” he added.

Mangione was arrested Monday on gun charges in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in connection with the death of Thompson. reviewed “Industrial Society and its Future,” also known as the Unabomber Manifesto, called Ted Kaczynski a “genius” on an account calling itself Goodreads earlier this year.

“It's clearly written by a mathematical genius. It reads like a series of lemmas about quality of life issues in the 21st century,” Mangione said of Kaczynski's 1995 anti-technology essay, The Unabomber Manifesto. I started with a book review and rated it 4 out of 5 stars.

“It's easy to quickly and thoughtlessly dismiss this as a madman's manifesto to avoid confronting some of the unpleasant problems it identifies. But how many of his prophecies about modern society are It is simply impossible to ignore how far-sighted the outcome was,” Mangione continued.

The suspected shooter went on to say that while Kaczynski was a “violent person,” the Unabomber's actions “more accurately can be seen as extreme political revolutionaries.”

“He was a violent person who deservedly went to prison and seriously injured innocent people. These actions tend to be characterized as those of a deranged Luddite, but they are more accurately described as extreme It is seen as an act of a political revolutionary,” Mangione said.

Mangione went on to cite another observation that he called “interesting,” saying that Kaczynski “had the guts to recognize that peaceful protests are not going to get us anywhere at all.” Violence is necessary for survival.”

“When all other forms of communication fail, violence is necessary for survival,” the cited opinion said, adding, “You may not like the way he does it, but try to see things from his perspective.” If you look, it's not terrorism, it's war and revolution.”

The comment continued:

Fossil fuel companies are aggressively suppressing anything that gets in their way, and within a generation or two, human lives begin to take a greater and greater toll, until the Earth orbits a third of the way from the sun. It becomes nothing more than a ball of fire. Until we realize that peaceful protests are completely ignored and economic protests are impossible under the current system, so violence against those who lead us to such destruction is justified in self-defense. How long will it take?

“These companies don't care about you or your children or grandchildren. They have no qualms about burning down the planet for money, so why do we have to do anything to survive?” Will you have no qualms about burning them down?'' Added quote from Mangione.

Mangione's review further states: “We are animals like every other animal on this planet, only we forget the rules of the jungle and fight to the death when any other animal would recognize a threat. bow down for their rulers” for their survival. ”

The suspected shooter concluded by claiming that the idea that “violence solved nothing” was “a statement uttered by cowards and looters.”
