President-elect Donald Trump's incoming border czar, Tom Homan, appeared in Chicago on Tuesday and fired over the bow at city and state leaders who support the sanctuary.
Mr. Homan took aim specifically at Chicago's pro-sanctuary Mayor Brandon Johnson, telling the leftist mayor that he would be arrested and prosecuted if he interfered with President Trump's mass deportation plan.
The border czar spoke at a holiday event Tuesday hosted by Law and Order PAC and the Northwest Side Republican Club, and he didn't hold back in his comments.
“Chicago is in trouble because the mayor and governor are terrible,” Homan said. shouted CBS News reported that he criticized state leaders who support the sanctuary.
A senior Trump official said he has been put in charge of the largest deportation operation ever planned by the president-elect, and that he intends to carry out some of it across Chicago.
“We start here in Chicago, Illinois. If the mayor of Chicago doesn't want to help, he can stand down,” Homan warned. “But if he gets in our way, if he knowingly harbors or conceals illegal aliens, I will prosecute him.”

He said he plans to send ICE officers to search throughout Chicago looking for “criminals and gang members,” adding, “Stay tuned. It's going to happen.”
Chicago City Councilman Nicholas Sposato (38th) also attended Homan's appearance and said most immigrants have nothing to worry about.
“They've made it perfectly clear that they're going after the criminals first. They're not going after the dreamers. They're going after the criminals first,” Sposato told Homan. ”
Aldo. Ray Lopez (15th) also urged city officials to work with the Trump administration on these deportation plans. In a post on X, Lopez said he supports removing dangerous criminals from neighborhoods.

As Mr. Homan's warning resonated with the Illinois government, the radical left governor issued a statement condemning Mr. Homan's remarks.
