Former NFL great Tom Brady sells $9 million worth of watches, football items at auction dubbed ‘The GOAT Collection’

Tom Brady sold a number of watches and other items from his legendary football career at auction for a total of $9 million, according to Sotheby's.

Dozens of items belonging to the retired NFL quarterback were disposed of at Sotheby's on Tuesday night. These range from luxury designer watches and Super Bowl cufflinks to game-worn jerseys and football shoulder pads.

“Tonight at #Sotheby’s New York, the GOAT Collection: Watches and Treasures from Tom Brady brought in a total of $9 million, with all 41 lots sold,” the auction house announced on X early Wednesday morning. “The white glove sale attracted more than 800 participants.'' Prior to the auction, Sotheby's had estimated that the GOAT Collection: Watches & Treasures from Tom Brady collection would fetch more than $6 million.

The football apparel for sale was from both Brady's time with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as his college football career.

One of the jerseys up for auction was the one worn by then-Buccaneers quarterback Brady when he set a new NFL record for passing yards in a 2021 game against the Patriots. Brady also put the football from that game up for auction.

The winning bids were $504,000 and $216,000, respectively, Sotheby's said.
