major events

6 minutes: Spurs play the ball from their own area – Bentancur moves up field on the right side but ends up powering off the ball. Rangers are showing a bit of physicality.

3 minutes: Two risky moves by the Rangers were handled pretty well by the Spurs. It's a very positive start on both sides.

1 minute: Spurs started well, with Werner swinging down the left wing to win a corner kick. That play is of no use. Good opening move though.

kick off

And part ways with the Spurs. Hold on to your hat.

It's great at Ibrox tonight. It's almost below freezing.
Television screens (dubbing the match the Battle of Britain) showed young mascots cheerfully warming up in the tunnel. Socks are pulled up past the knees.

Ange interview: “Tough game, important game”

Spurs TV asks the question, “How does it feel to be back?” (in Glasgow). I think it's a fair question as Ange was Celtic manager for several years.

He replies: “It's good to be back. It was just as cold as I remember.”

And asked about his possible acceptance by Rangers fans:

“When you're here, you understand that the city is divided, and if you're on one side, you kind of know that the other side isn't very warm and friendly towards you. But it's okay, that's part of the sport.

About injuries and perhaps the general malaise of Spurs after a very up-and-down run of results.

“We are in a bit of a difficult situation, but for us it is a great opportunity to overcome difficulties and create something special.

“Honestly, this is probably the worst thing I've ever experienced. All you need to do is stay calm and believe in the principles of what you're building.”

Update date and time

I don't see many pictures of Ange smiling, so I'll introduce her here.

Everyone in the evening – in the morning if you are in the Australian time zone, in the afternoon if you are in the Americas, etc.

Welcome to the second live match of the day – a potential cracker with a lot at stake (for Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou) in this one.

8th place Rangers vs. 9th place Spurs.

But more than that, it was Ange who got the season back on track after a hectic and eventful few months of glory (4-0 win at Man City) and misery (is that a word to describe their various comebacks?). This is your chance to get back to it. Front line defeat? )
