Cody Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens in the main event of Saturday Night in New York to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship, but the real fireworks came after the match.
Rose used the chair Owens brought into the match after both referees were knocked out. After Owens missed a chair shot, he performed his patented Cross Rose finishing maneuver. Owens returned to the ring and attacked the champion as “The American Nightmare” celebrated.

Owens nailed Rose with an “illegal” package piledriver. Rose left the arena on a stretcher.
As Owens was walking toward Gorilla's position, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE's chief content officer, confronted Owens. Levesque shoved Owens as they both locked eyes. WWE security had to separate the two while Levesque went to check on Rose.
This was the second time Owens used the Package Piledriver against a SmackDown Superstar. He used it on Randy Orton, and Orton went down and out and was taken from the arena on a stretcher.
It's unclear what the future holds for both Owens and Rose in the aftermath.
In other matches, Chelsea Green made history with a win over Michin. Green rolled onto Meechin's back in the corner and performed an incredible Unpretty Her move, picking up the pinfall.

Greene becomes the first U.S. Women's Champion since WWE announced the mid-card belt a few weeks ago.
It's been a long time coming for Green, who first appeared in WWE in 2014 and became a contestant on “Tough Enough” in 2015. She then made an impact in TNA Wrestling and Lucha Underground before getting her real chance in WWE. NXT.
She had a surprising release in 2021, eventually returning to TNA and becoming Tag Team Champions with Deonna Purrazzo in 2022. In 2023 she returned to WWE and became tag team champion with Sonya Deville and later Piper Niven.
Green competed in the United States title tournament, defeating Blair Davenport and Bianca Belair in a triple threat match, and Bayley in a singles match to earn a chance at the title. She achieved that dream on Saturday night, winning her first singles title.
