Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably seen a video doing the rounds on social media showing an otherwise unidentified flying object flying through the skies of New Jersey, though it looks like a drone. .
Reports of large, unidentified drones appearing overnight in multiple New Jersey counties and parts of New York City are perplexing residents and raising concerns for local and federal authorities.
New Jersey Congressman Jefferson Van Drew claims he knows what's going on.
“I'm going to get to know people and tell them the truth from what I've gotten from very highly qualified sources, very responsible sources,” he said on Fox News. ” he said. “Iran probably launched a mothership with these drones on it about a month ago.”
Van Drew went on to say that the “mother ship” is located “off the east coast of the United States.”
“Please know that Iran has signed an agreement with China to buy drones, motherships and technology to move forward. We can't reveal who they are because there are so many drones. These drones should be shot down,” he added.
However, Deputy Defense Spokesperson Sabrina Singh explained at a Pentagon briefing that there is no Iranian mothership.
“There is no evidence that these activities are the work of foreign entities or adversaries. We will continue to monitor what is happening,” Singh said.
