4 children alone at home when thugs shoot up house; Mom says it’s payback after son, 14, fought at school when he got jumped

A gunman opened fire on a home in DeKalb County, Georgia, on Tuesday morning, forcing four children who were alone inside the home to flee. WSB TV reported.

The mother told the station that the shooting was in retaliation for an argument in which her 14-year-old son was jumped at school.

“One of them approached my sister, and she ducked down.''

WSB said a home on Overlook Avenue was hit by dozens of shots just before 10 a.m.

The mother told the station that everything happened shortly after she and her son left home. “We left at 9:45. My daughter called me at 9:52, screaming on the phone.”

According to WSB, the mother allowed the 11-year-old girl to tell police the horrific incident, in which bullets ripped through windows and walls and all the children ran for their lives.

An 11-year-old girl told WSB: “One person approached my sister and I dodged,” adding that “gunshots” “went through the house.”

Police said bullet holes were found throughout the house, most of them on the upper floors.

No one was injured in the shooting, WSB said, adding that a neighbor showed a station reporter doorbell video where gunmen can be heard firing multiple shots into the home.

The reporter asked the mother if she thought the gunmen were trying to kill her family, the station said, adding that the mother replied, “Of course they fired 25 shots inside the house.”

WSB reported that police arrived at the scene and said they saw evidence markers on the street, and the mother said police told her they had a general idea of ​​who fired the shots.

“They have Ring cameras and they're going to get to the bottom of it,” the mother told reporters at the station.

A neighbor who showed a WSB reporter's doorbell video of the shooting asked him not to broadcast it.
