Daisy is famous for its Red Ryder lever-action BB guns, but it's also known for its pneumatic systems, and the Powerline 880 is a popular among the company's pump rifles.
This author grew up with an 880 and carried it with him when wandering through the woods and along the rivers of Kentucky. I literally carried the 880 with me all the time and it never let me down.
Fast forward to 2024 and I got one to review here at Breitbart News, and it was like stepping back in time.
Note that this is the same 10-pump air rifle with the same features, but it appears to be slightly lighter because they decided to replace some non-stress metal parts with polymer parts.
The front sight is fiber optic and the rear sight is easily adjustable for windage and elevation.
The Powerline 880 can be purchased alone or with a 4 x 15 daisy scope. We got our rifles and scopes and were reminded of the joy of shooting.
I aimed the scope at an empty cardboard box about 30 yards out, then drilled holes into an empty soda can and a row of clay pigeons.
The Powerline 880 fires BB bullets at 800 feet per second (FPS) and .177 pellets in the low 600s. This makes the 880 a great way to learn to shoot and an economical way to continue shooting. (Side note: Zeroing the 4 x 15 daisy scope is also easy and provides a basic introduction to dial-in optics for beginners.)
The Powerline 880 has it all. It's accurate, easy to use, and what's more, it brings you fun every time you pull the trigger.
