Elon Musk Giving ‘Serious Thought’ to Financially Backing Farage

Brexit boss Nigel Farage spoke out about Elon Musk's donation to Britain's Reform UK party after meeting the world's richest man at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida on Tuesday. “I am seriously considering it,” he said.

Last month, reformers donated $100 million to Mr Farage's populist party to help Mr Musk topple Prime Minister Keir Starmer's Labor Party, of which Mr Musk is a major critic over left-wing policies including imprisonment. Rumors have surfaced that they are considering it. People posting on social media and calling for planned tax increases for farmers.

Farage says he expects a large donation from Musk said times of london: “We've talked about money. We're negotiating whether he can help. He fully supports this. He's fully motivated by what's going on in the UK. I'm seriously thinking about donating money.

“Our main purpose was to discuss what he did in the ground war. There is no doubt that his influence brought about great changes. [during the US election]. I learned a lot about voter registration. ”

Mr Farage was also joined at the Mar-a-Lago meeting with Mr Musk by recently appointed party treasurer Nick Candy. Candy, a billionaire property developer, has recently left the so-called Conservative Party and was previously a major donor to the party.

Mr Candy said he had personally donated £1m to Reform and would serve as the party's chief fundraiser. But Mr Candy said one of the main purposes of his meeting with Mr Musk was to learn about the “Trump ground game” and how it would play out with reforms in UK elections. said.

After the meeting, Mr Farage posted a photo of himself, candy and a mask at Mar-a-Lago on X with the caption: “'Britain needs reform.'” To this, Mr. Musk replied, “That's right.”

Despite not being a British citizen, under current law it is believed that Mr Musk could contribute significant funds to the reforms through his Business X or Tesla's UK branch.

But apparently spooked by the prospect of Mr Musk interfering in British politics, the left-wing Labor government is reportedly considering amending political donations laws to prevent Mr X from endorsing Mr Farage. .

A Labor Party spokesperson said: “We are considering changes to protect the system from foreign interference, including tighter controls on donations.”

The potential financial support from Mr Musk comes as Mr Farage's party continues to rise in the polls, with Reformists ahead of Labor for the first time in a Find Now poll this month.

Meanwhile, leading British bookmaker Ladbrokes said last week that the Brexit chief is now leading the betting odds to become the country's next prime minister.
