In an interview with Boston on Tuesday, First Lady Jill Biden said she had “talked to a lot of legal experts” about the prospect of President Joe Biden pardoning her son Hunter, and that “things have changed,” adding that Joe Biden defended the president.
Boston 25 host and investigative reporter Kelly Kavanaugh said she asked Mr. Biden if there was anything he wanted to say that would resonate more with Americans, and played a clip of him saying: Joe opened schools, ended the pandemic, built infrastructure and accomplished so much. Now we have a great economy. So I wish we could have amplified those things a little bit more so that people could look back and say, oh yeah, when Biden was president, oh, oh, we did this when Biden was president, or– I think so. ”
Mr. Kavanaugh then interjected and asked: “Are you worried that with all these achievements over the years, something will be overshadowed by your son's pardon?”
Biden responded: I think Joe — Kelly, Joe took this decision seriously and things have changed. Joe talked with many legal experts and I think this was the right thing to do. And of course Hunter is my son. And of course I support Joe's actions. ”
