A Michigan man allegedly stabbed the president of the company he worked for during a meeting in a possible “copycat” attack mirroring the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Ru.
The Fruitport County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that Eric Denslow, head of Anderson Express, a Muskegon manufacturing company, was stabbed during a staff meeting Tuesday.
“We haven't ruled out there was a copycat motive in this,” Deputy Police Chief Greg Paulson told News 8 on Wednesday. I think everyone will think so this time.

Denslow underwent surgery and remains in serious but stable condition, police said.
The suspect, identified as Nathan Mahoney, 32, was attending a staff meeting around 9:20 a.m. when he got up and left. The news agency said the man returned 10 minutes later, walked up to Denslow and stabbed him in the side.
According to police, Mahoney fled in a car, but was stopped by police and arrested 15 minutes later. He had only worked at the company for a few weeks.

Fellow employees said the suspect had a quiet demeanor. Investigators have not determined a motive for the attack. However, they did not rule out the possibility of a copycat attack.
“We are investigating all of his social accounts and electronic media to try to determine the motive behind this act,” Paulson said.

Denslow joined the company in January 2022 as vice president and general manager, according to his LinkedIn profile. He was promoted to president within a year.
Anderson Express works with the automotive and defense sectors. Fox News Digital has reached out to the company. In a statement to Fox 17, the company said it remains “shocked” by the incident.
“Our thoughts are first with the President, and he has a good prognosis for a full and speedy recovery,” the statement said. “We are also committed to supporting our employees as they respond to this senseless attack.
Manhoney was charged with assault with intent to murder and fleeing. He is being held in the Muskegon County Jail on $501,000 bail.

The case had similarities to the murder of Thompson, who was shot to death in New York City on December 4. Suspected gunman Luigi Mangione was extradited from Pennsylvania to New York on Thursday.
