Vincent Price's favorite holiday was Christmas, and the horror icon couldn't help but prank his wife every December, according to his daughter.
Victoria Price told Fox News Digital that her father, the star of classic horror films such as “The House on Haunted Hill'' and “Edward Scissorhands,'' “had a weakness for big jewelry and liked to buy them for his wife.'' '' he said after going to Poland. In 1974, he gave his stepmother a chunky bone butterfly necklace.
“My stepmother hated it,” Price said. “It wasn't her thing. And unlike the rest of us, she just said it: 'I'll never wear this. I hate it.'” Her stepmother also said: He also gave the necklace to his mother, Mary Grant Price, who said she likely wasn't “loved” by the fact that she wore it.
She continued, “My dad loved Christmas. He was like Christmas. Christmas was his favorite holiday. They were married for 18 years. She said her father was a habitual prankster, leaving “nasty, corroded dentures” under his pillow when he expected a nickel from the Tooth Fairy, or popping them out when he went trick-or-treating. He even surprised people who gave him candy.
“My stepmother hated it. It wasn't her thing. And unlike the rest of us, she just said it: 'I'll never wear this. I hate it.'”

Price said her family celebrated a “very traditional” Christmas. The event consisted of opening stockings with family, eating sweet rolls and eggnog, having lunch, exchanging gifts with extended family all day, and ending with a big New Year's Eve party with a band and dancing.

“The Christmas tree was always a big deal. We lived in a very big house.”

She said the entire house was decorated and her mother turned the tree into a “work of art” and even got a small “Charlie Brown” tree that she could decorate herself.

“All the art pieces had ribbons on them, the different figures had ornaments on them, and we had a lot of fun,” she said.

Price said they often traveled together at Christmas when they were children, to places like London and Boston.

“After receiving the certificate, my father and I went to Hunter's Books. He enjoyed himself for as long as he could. There was no time limit,” she recalled.
“He had a great time looking at art books, and I spent an awful lot of time finding the perfect 10 books I wanted for a $10 value.” I would go home, lock myself in my room, and after, I don't know, 24 hours, my dad would always pretend to be mad, like, “I can't believe you would do that when you just spent $10.'' . know? ' . And then he found out how much I love reading. ”
