Travis Hunter is off the 'gram.
Colorado's two-way star trending headlines Monday after deactivating his Instagram account amid a recent wave of criticism involving his fiancée, Leanna Rennie.
Renee has been at the center of online criticism after Hunter won the Heisman Trophy on Dec. 14, and her behavior at fan events has been heavily scrutinized on social media.
The ridicule continued from there.
An old video that appears to feature Renee resurfaced in the early hours of Monday, showing her dancing on top of another man.
TMZ reported on Monday that “the clip is believed to have been filmed several years ago.” [Lenee] and the hunters gathered. ”
Hunter, who announced his engagement to Renee earlier this year, recently spoke out in support of his fiancée on a Twitch livestream after the Heisman ceremony, saying she cried herself to sleep because of her hate.
“It's not like I didn't have a girl, so why is everyone talking about me?” the Buffaloes wide receiver and cornerback said. “Find someone else to talk to…tell me about your girl. Go find a girl. Go find a life. Stop worrying about what happened to me. I know what happened.
“My girlfriend has been with me for 5 years. You guys are just starting to talk about me now…you guys go do something else with your life. No clickbait pages please, Better not, I tell you, something bad will happen to everyone. [if you] Please keep doing that. You should stop doing that. I'm not playing around. ”
Hunter, 21, defended Rennie when the pair got into an awkward moment after a match last month.
Shortly after the University of Colorado's 52-0 victory over Oklahoma State, Hunter tried to hug Renee, who appeared to have his back turned.
“There can be a lot going on in the stands and people don't understand it,” Hunter said. In a December episode of “The Pivot Podcast.”
“She may seem irritated with me, but at the same time, there's a lot of things she deals with during the match. There's a lot of things that you don't see on camera.”
As the controversy continues to grow, Sports media luminaries such as Shannon Sharpe and Nate Burleson have also weighed in on Renee and Hunter's relationship.
Recent comments on TMZBurleson said when an individual's private life is broadcast on a public platform, it is subject to the commentary that comes with it.
“That couple put it out there, so it's someone else's business,” said the former NFL receiver turned CBS analyst.
“You can't complain about people's reactions. That's social media. You can't mind your own business or keep your opinions to yourself after you've shared them with everyone.”
Hunter could be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
