Trump slams Harris's celebrity endorsements, calls Sharpton a ‘con man’

President-elect Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday, accusing Democrats of paying celebrities to publicly support Vice President Harris, including MSNBC host Al Sharpton.

“Are Democrats allowed to pay $11 million, $2 million, $500,000 to get the support of Beyoncé, Oprah, and Pastor Al? I don't think so,” the former president wrote.

“Beyoncé didn't sing, Oprah didn't do anything (she called it an 'expense'), and Al is just a third-rate fraudster,” he added.

Beyoncé and Oprah joined Harris' campaign. Oprah said last month that she “wasn't paid a penny” to appear with the Democratic presidential candidate in a livestream event. However, production costs were covered by the campaign.

Sharpton, a former minister and civil rights activist, is the host of MSNBC's “Politics Nation” and interviewed Harris in October. The paper said he was also the founder of the nonprofit advocacy group National Action Network, which received $500,000 from Harris in the weeks before the interview with the candidate. washington free beaconfirst reported this story.

Mr. Sharpton then held a voting rally in support of Ms. Harris just three days after the segment aired.

MSNBC said it was not aware of any donations to the campaign's sponsoring organizations.

A spokesperson for MSNBC told the Washington Free Beacon that “MSNBC was not aware of the donation to the National Action Network,” declining to say whether the network would take any action. He indicated that he would not comment on “personnel issues.”

The network did not immediately respond to The Hill's request for comment.

But on Saturday, amid intense Democratic scrutiny of Harris' spending, President Trump questioned the legality of the donation.

“So what's going on here? Totally against the law, but I hear there's plenty more!!!” Trump concluded in his post.

During the 2024 presidential campaign, the president-elect has taken issue with Harris' various media appearances, including an interview with CBS News in which she claimed the network changed her response before it aired. It was.
