Ohio State, Anthem reach agreement on new commercial insurance contract – 10TV

Anthem and Ohio State University did not reach an agreement on the 2025 Medicare Advantage Network.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State on Monday. an agreement was reached Signed new network participation agreement with Anthem to continue care for thousands of patients at in-network rates.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance's new multi-year contract is effective January 1, 2025.

The deadline for reaching an agreement was December 31st.

Patients who have canceled or rescheduled appointments are encouraged to book online using MyChart or call our patient information line at 614-293-8000 to resume treatment.

“We thank our patients and our community for their patience and for entrusting their health to Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and James Cancer Hospital. We are honored to care for patients and families across Ohio. ” said a release from the hospital.

Anthem and the state of Ohio were unable to reach an agreement on which health system would remain in the Anthem Medicare Advantage Network until 2025.

Ohio patients with Anthem Medicare Advantage insurance will no longer have access to in-network care starting Wednesday.

Patients who wish to continue their treatment at The Ohio State University through Medicare Advantage will have the opportunity to switch to another Medicare Advantage plan during the open enrollment period beginning January 1, 2025.
