(WHTM) — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Ford Motor Co. has recalled thousands of electric trucks from 2023 to 2024 due to an increased risk of crashes.
According to NHTSAFord will recall nearly 12,000 2023-2024 F-150s. Lightning BEV This is because the risk of vehicle collision increases.
The agency says the ball joint nut on the front upper control arm may not have been properly tightened, potentially allowing the front upper arm control to separate from the knuckle assembly.
Simply put, this problem can cause a loss of steering and control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a collision for the driver.
Consumers are advised that dealers will inspect the upper arm control arm ball joint nut and replace the nut or knuckle assembly if necessary, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on February 3, 2025. Consumers with questions should contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's recall number is 24S76.
