The mother of a newborn baby girl left in a tote bag outside a Bronx building over the weekend is facing criminal charges, authorities announced.
Delfina Galvez, who turned herself in late Monday after the NYPD released surveillance footage showing the suspect apparently abandoning the infant on the sidewalk outside a rain-soaked Morrisania building early Sunday morning, police said. 26) appeared in court.

According to law enforcement officials, someone called 911 after hearing the baby crying.
Officials said police spoke with the caller and later found the infant inside a discarded bag.
Paramedics took the baby to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
Mr. Galvez surrendered hours after the New York Police Department released a video showing him wearing a black face mask, glasses or sunglasses, a hood pulled over his head, and carrying a bag as he slowly walks down a sidewalk.
Galvez, who lives about a block from where she allegedly abandoned her newborn daughter, does not appear to have been previously arrested in the Big Apple, authorities said.
