Mega-Podcaster and Rapper Joe Budden Arrested After Being Caught Naked in Apartment Building

Joe Budden's podcast consistently ranks among the most downloaded and most listened to podcasts in the world, but local police have obtained video evidence of the New Jersey rapper wandering naked through the hallways of his apartment. He was arrested after making the announcement.

The Edgewater Police Department said in a statement that a resident of the apartment complex was in possession of Ring camera footage that showed the 44-year-old rapper nude at the community center on Dec. 4.

“The caller recognized the man as his neighbor, Joseph Budden Jr., a 44-year-old man,” Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin said Monday.

The police statement added that the video shows Budden attempting to enter the door's entry code several times, then entering it correctly and re-entering the apartment.

Residents said a Ring camera captured the footage and later alerted the couple's daughters about the footage, which they also saw.

In past podcasts, Budden detailed his issues with neighbors and also talked about his sleepwalking issues.

Budden's lawyer said he was “saddened” by the police statement.

“Mr. Budden is saddened to hear Police Chief Martin's press release,” Budden's attorney Nima Ameri said. TMZ. “Mr. Budden has been waiting several weeks for his cross-charges, which include substantially more serious charges, including the possibility of felonies against the people behind these charges against him, to be processed.”

“In our opinion, the Chief remained silent on those matters, instead spending his time getting free publicity for himself. Instead, they should raise their profile by carrying out notable crackdowns,” Ameri added.

Amelie also accused police of being “racially motivated.”

Budden is the man behind the 2003 smash hit “Pump It Up.” The first court hearing will be held next month.
