The aunt of former Princeton University football player Tiger Beck, who was killed in the New Year's Day terrorist attack in New Orleans, says the family is relying on their faith in God to get through the horrific event.
Cheri Beck said God be with you Friday on Fox & Friends.
“It's honestly amazing. You know, this is devastating, but God is very present,” said Cheri Beck, the young man's aunt.
Mr. Tiger, who lived in New York, was on vacation in Louisiana and was celebrating on Bourbon Street when terrorist Shamsud Din Jabar drove a truck filled with people enjoying New Year's revelry. I ran through the streets.
Beck, a Louisiana native who played high school football at St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was reportedly placed on life support until he could contact his family. KLFY-TV Reported.
“On New Year's Eve, we found out the news about Tiger. My daughters and I were sitting at the dinner table, and one of my daughters looked at me and said, 'Mom, you know, somebody… killed my cousin.’ And I forgive him,” Cheri told Fox News.
“It is because of our faith in Jesus that we can forgive such heinous criminal acts against innocent people,” she added.
This week, Cheri also shared important Bible verses to guide her family.
“These verses keep coming up because, as I said, God keeps showing up in some truly amazing ways, and that is Isaiah 41:10. “Do not be afraid, ”Do not be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my right hand of victory,” Cheri chanted.
“We want everyone to know that the entire Bex family is praying for all of the other victims' families. As you know, it's a difficult road, but if we all work together we can get through it.” We can. And we have a large core family,” she said.
Tiger's brother Jack posted a message on social media: “Love you always, brother!” You inspired me every day. Now you can be with me in every moment. I got the family T, don't worry. This is for us. ”
Tiger Beck played at Princeton from 2016 to 2018, and after graduating from college, he became a stockbroker at a company in New York. He was only 27 years old when he was murdered.
