Knife-wielding man on the loose in NYC after subway stabbings: NYPD

A knife-wielding maniac with a history of mental illness and 53 prior arrests is wanted in connection with at least two subway stabbings this week, The Post has learned. Ta.

A message to police obtained by the newspaper said officers searching for Jamar Banks were advised to use “extreme caution” when encountering the suspect, as he appeared to be carrying a “large knife.” He said he was warned to pay.

Banks' rap sheet includes arrests for weapons possession, assault, trespassing, turnstile jumping and petty theft, officials said.

His last arrest was on November 14th for petty theft in the Bronx.
