Donny Osmond remembers the best advice he received from the “king” of rock and roll.
Osmond, 67, recalled Elvis Presley's words of wisdom that resonated with him as a child.
“I remember talking to Elvis one day, including my family, and he said, 'If I could do it all over again, I would be closer to the fans,'” Osmond told People magazine.

“I was 14 years old when he said that. And it really, really affected me that a guy this big, you know, the 'King' of rock and roll, said he wanted to be closer to his fans.” I received it. “Because he was so isolated, that's one of the reasons I do it, because it comes from the “King.'' ”
In 2017, Osmond met Presley on the ITV show Lorraine and spoke about how he was “the nicest guy”. She added that Presley reminded her of the importance of being a “real person.”
Osmond went on to explain how he's taking a modern approach to social media in 2024, saying he's “really enjoying” engaging with fans while reflecting on his illustrious music career.
“Can you imagine what I could have done in the age of social media and 'puppy love'?” he said.

Osmond's comments came on the same day that his brother Wayne, a founding member of the Osmond Brothers, passed away on New Year's Day at the age of 73 after suffering a severe stroke. Wayne was also the younger brother of entertainer Marie Osmond.
“Wayne Osmond, a beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully last night surrounded by his loving wife and five children,” the Osmond family said in a statement posted Thursday. facebook page Amy Osmond Cooke, daughter of Wayne;

“His legacy of faith, music, love and laughter has touched the lives of many people around the world.
“He wanted everyone to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that families are eternal, and that banana splits are the best dessert,” the family added. “We love him and will miss him very much.”

Donnie said: “My dear brother Wayne passed away peacefully last night after suffering a stroke. “I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to visit him in hospital before he passed away. Wayne will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. He especially brought so much light, laughter and love to me. He was the ultimate optimist and was loved by everyone.”

“I believe I speak on behalf of all of my brothers when I say how lucky we are to have Wayne as a brother,” he added. “Even though we are separated in this life, we know that through the grace and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, we have the opportunity to be with Wayne forever.
