Brett Favre Blasts Allstate CEO After for ‘DEI’ Sugar Bowl Message

Brett Favre knows something about performing at his best when it matters, and he's confident Allstate CEO Tom Wilson didn't do that.

Wilson sparked a heated controversy Thursday night after he delivered a message to viewers referencing the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street the day before that killed 14 people. In the video, Wilson urged Americans to turn away from their “addiction to discord” and “embrace our people's imperfections and differences.”

“A tragedy struck the New Orleans community on Wednesday. Our prayers are with the victims and their families. We also stand united in overcoming our addiction to discord and negativity. We also need to be strong,” Wilson said.

“Join Allstate in local communities across America to amplify positivity, increase trust, and embrace people's imperfections and differences. Together, we will win.”

In a post by X slamming ESPN for not playing the national anthem before the Sugar Bowl, Favre tasked Wilson with delivering a message of “DEI.”

“I heard that the Sugar Bowl national anthem was not televised yesterday. Instead, the DEI message from @allstate CEO. Wake is a joke.”

X users flooded the platform with messages calling for a boycott of Allstate and for Wilson to be fired.

Allstate issued a statement to Fox News Digital on Thursday attempting to explain the CEO's comments.

“Let me be clear: Allstate CEO Tom Wilson unequivocally condemns this heinous act of terrorism and violence in all its forms. We stand behind the families of the victims, their loved ones, and the New Orleans “We stand with our communities. The reference to overcoming division and negativity reflects a broader commitment to fostering trust and positivity in communities across the country,” the statement reads.

The early morning festive mood that followed New Year's celebrations was shattered at about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday when a driver drove his truck into a crowd, killing and injuring dozens of people. The driver, identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar, then got out of his car and opened fire on police, injuring two officers.

Din Jabbar was killed in a gunfight with police. Authorities also found an ISIS flag affixed to Din Jabbar's truck.
