Demi Moore wins first Golden Globe

Demi Moore won her first Golden Globe trophy on Sunday for her role in Substance.

Moore, 61, admitted she was “shocked” as she took to the stage to accept the award.

“I've been doing this for over 45 years, and this is the first time I've won anything as an actor,” Moore told an audience at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

In “The Substance,” Moore plays a 50-year-old actress who is unwillingly fired from a fitness show.

In an attempt to keep her career going, she uses a magic pill that promises to create a literal younger version of herself, played by Margaret Qualley, but it comes at a bloody and brutal price.

Ms. Moore said a woman told her how important it was to stop competing with others and to know her own worth, even though she alone would never be “good enough” if only she could “put up a marker.” I remembered that.
