President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Nassau County Judge Joseph Nocera Jr. to be the next federal prosecutor for the Eastern District of New York.
“Judge Nocera has a strong track record of bringing law and order to the great people of New York, having served as a Nassau County District Court judge and Family Court judge,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social Monday night. The selection was announced.

President Trump added: “A proud graduate of Columbia Law School, he has worked in private practice for more than a decade.”
President Trump noted that Nocera also worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in the same office from 1991 to 1995.
Nocera will replace current Eastern District Attorney Breon Peace, who announced his resignation on January 10, before President Trump took office.
