The Detroit Lions have never been to a Super Bowl, much less won a championship game. However, oddsmakers believe this will be their year.
The Lions are listed as +280 Super Bowl favorites on DraftKings, led by Detroit's 31-9 rout of division rival Minnesota on Sunday night.
The groups with the best odds after the Lions are the Chiefs +350, Ravens +600, Bills +650, and Eagles +700. The next group has the Vikings at +1600, the Packers at +2000, the Buccaneers at +2500, and the Chargers at +2800. Longshots are the Commanders at +4500, the Rams at +4500, the Broncos at +5500, the Texans at +8000, and the Steelers at +9000.
The Lions' rise to first place came despite injuries to many of their star players, including defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, running back David Montgomery and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez.
Detroit's victory over Minnesota clinched the lead in a closely contested NFC playoff race, giving them a bye in the first round. This is a much-needed reprieve for a team that has suffered varying degrees of injuries to more than a dozen starters and key players.
