Sandra Bullock honored her late father on Father’s Day with a touching post that included a seldom-seen photo featuring him and his two kids.
Her father, John Wilson Bullock, passed away in 2018 at the age of 93. In her tribute, Sandra shared a nostalgic picture of them together at the premiere of *Forces of Nature* in March 1999. She also posted a sweet image of herself with her son Louis and daughter Layla when they were younger. In the photo, Louis, who tends to keep his family life private, covered Layla’s face with a heart emoji while playfully covering his own mouth.
In one poignant moment, she posted a black and white image of her father from his military days. John served in the U.S. Army and later as a civilian contractor for the Department of Defense.
Sandra humorously noted her dark hair and makeup in a 1999 photo, expressing, “He loved me through my goth years… loved the love of my life… and loved our country when he was 18…”
She concluded with a heartfelt message: “Happy Heavenly Father’s Day, Dad. ❤️”
At 61, Sandra adopted Louis, now 16, in 2010, and Layla, now 11, in 2015.
Previously, the *Practical Magic* actress discussed her father’s passing. In December 2018, she reflected on losing both him and two dogs within weeks. Her father died of natural causes, while one dog suffered a stroke and the other had a heart tumor.
“I realized that life happens whether you schedule it or not,” she shared during an appearance on *The Ellen DeGeneres Show*.
She mentioned feeling confident she’d be fine, but it caught up with her, and her kids noticed something was off.
“Then a week later, I’m crying in the bathtub, and my kids are like, ‘Mommy, are you okay?'” she recalled. “They’re like, ‘Leave mommy alone in the bathtub. She’s going to be okay.’”
Sandra also gave a rare glimpse of her kids on Mother’s Day last month, sharing an adorable photo of them in costumes—Layla in a vibrant tulle dress and Louis as a magician.
In another personal touch, she shared a memory of her late grandmother and her mother, Helga Meyer. Her mother passed away in April 2000 after battling cancer at 58.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all moms, no matter how you were born. We are all linked by this once-in-a-lifetime honor,” she wrote, concluding with, “Thank you, Mom and Omi, for letting me know. I miss you so much❤️ I’m sorry I was such a brat.”
