Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) said he plans to “vote yes” on confirming former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy (R) to serve as Secretary of Transportation.
In a post about X, Fetterman expressed He said he had “enjoyed meeting” Duffy and emphasized that the two “agreed on a lot of things.” Fetterman previously said that his vote for President-elect Donald Trump's nominee “comes from an open mind and an informed opinion.”
“I enjoyed meeting @SeanDuffy WI and will vote yes on his nomination,” Fetterman wrote. “We agreed on a lot of things, but I especially appreciated him quietly acknowledging that the Steelers were better than the Packers.”
Fetterman's post was in response to Duffy. Post A photo of the two of them together said that she had “enjoyed talking” with Fetterman. Duffy added that while they “completely disagree on football,” “we both know that safe roads and bridges in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are not a partisan issue.”
“It was fun talking to @SenFettermanPA today,” Duffy wrote. “While there were many points of sympathy in the recent NFC and AFC playoff races, we did not completely agree on football. and know that bridges are not a partisan issue, but a safety need for all Americans. We hope he will be cheering on our Packers on Sunday!”
In November, President Trump selected Duffy to be Secretary of Transportation in the next administration. President Trump has previously praised Duffy, who has advocated for “fiscal responsibility, economic growth, and local development,” as a “fantastic and well-liked public servant.”
