If you've ever wondered what NFL players do on the sideline when they're not in the game, AJ Brown was spotted reading a book during Sunday's playoff game against the Packers. , I have only briefly mentioned it.
The Fox broadcast captured the Eagles wide receiver reading Jim Murphy's “INNER EXCELLENCE: Training Your Mind for Exceptional Performance and Your Best Life'' on the bench.
Brown wasn't involved in the Eagles' pass plan for most of the 22-10 wild-card round win at Lincoln Financial Field, and his receivers were on hand to help get through what was likely to be a frustrating day. seemed to be looking at it.
“He's a little frustrated. We obviously didn't see much of him today,” Fox broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt said on the air. “He's going to read a little passage here.”
Color commentator and former NFL great Tom Brady chimed in, joking that it's rare to see people reading on the sideline.
“I haven't seen many people read books, but I've seen quarterbacks eat hot dogs,” Brady joked.
The hot dog comment was in reference to Mark Sanchez, who was still with the Jets in 2009, when he was seen eating a hot dog on the bench during a game.
Brown was asked after the game about his literary choices and explained that it's the book he brings to every game.

“It gives me peace.” Mr. Brown said. “This is a book that I bring to every game. My teammates call it the recipe. It's the first time I've heard of it being on camera. It's not my first game. I've learned a lot of points. I was able to get it, and the mental aspect was also big.”
Brown had three catches for 10 yards in the win for the Eagles.
The Eagles advance and will face the winner of the Commanders-Buccaneers game in the divisional round.
