Shocking video shows a robber violently attack an 83-year-old woman shortly after collecting her lottery winnings.
Shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday, a man in a red shirt was seen casually walking up to the unidentified winner as he was leaving a store in Orlando, Florida.
As others emerge from the store, he appears to back away – only to approach an elderly woman who turns away to protect the cash in her hands – and is violently tackled to the ground. Only.
He fled with $200. according to people magazine.
It is unknown if the victim was injured.
Original Orange County Sheriff's Office shared a video “We need your help finding this suspect,” he said of the woman who was “violently robbed.”
The post was updated Thursday to read, “An arrest has been made! Thanks to the help of our community, Tavares Fleury has been arrested and is behind bars.”
The suspect is charged with robbery, sudden snatching and assault on a person over the age of 65, according to the sheriff's office.
It is unclear whether Mr. Fleury has filed a plea or has retained an attorney to represent him.
