The Electronic Payments Coalition (EPC) is launching a six-figure nationwide ad targeting Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) as President-elect Donald Trump's biggest opponent.
The EPC will attack Durbin for supporting EPC policies. say It benefits big corporations while undermining the value that American workers receive from compensation and many other benefits.
The ad is scheduled to air on Inauguration Day. slam Durbin is considered “Donald Trump's No. 1 enemy in Congress” for supporting a plan to support a “government takeover of credit cards.”
“Consumers have thousands of choices and credit cards, all with equal and strong security, but Durbin's plan offers less competition and less security, increasing the risk to trust and identity.” ” the ad says. “Tell Congressional Republicans to stop Dick Durbin's credit card takeover before it's too late.”
Durbin is a staunch establishment Democrat who voted against Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett. Opposed the 2017 Trump tax cut bill and convicted Trump in both Senate impeachment trials.
Durbin too be against Pam Bondi, President Trump's nominee for attorney general, Kash PatelPresident Trump's nominee for FBI director. “The president-elect wants to replace his own appointees with unqualified allies,” Durbin said. “The Senate should reject this unprecedented effort to arm the FBI for President Donald Trump’s promised retaliatory operations.”
EPC Executive Chairman Richard Hunt told Breitbart News that Durbin's bill is bad news for American workers.
“This government takeover of credit cards will hurt small businesses and compromise fraud prevention and data security,” he said. “This is so that some of them can get more benefits.”
“The EU has tried to regulate government credit card prices with disastrous results,” he added. “Congress should not import economic policy ideas from Europe.”
EPC donates $1 million to committee, Breitbart News learned Tuesday. Members of this group include Visa and Chase.
